Royal Navy HMS Glasgow ( C21) Light Cruiser Ship Silhouette Silver Sweetheart Brooch, Commissioned 1937 Scrapped 1958.
A scarce original circa 1937 - 1958 period 'HMS Glasgow in the form ship's silhouette brooch', the reverse impressed "800" (Silver) and 'F.I 11' in lozenge shape border. Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting and a good replacement hook, complete with safety chain.
Length 59mm.
Royal Navy HMS Glasgow was a Town-class light cruiser, built by 'Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company', Greenock, Scotland. The seventh ship with that name she was launched in 1936 and commissioned in 1937. She was part of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron of the Home Fleet, she escorted the King and Queen to Canada in 1939. She was sold for scrap in 1958.
