A scarce original Great War period 'H.M.S Ceres fine quality sweetheart brooch'; hollow silver example in the form of an anchor and bouy, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details "F.H.M" (Frank H Mannox, Birmingham). Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, no dents or distortions, an excellent example.

HMS Ceres was a C-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy, constructed by John Brown & Company, Clydebank and commissioned on the 1st June 1917. In July 1917 Ceres joined the 6th Light Cruiser Squadron as part of the Grand Fleet.
