Canadian CEF 8th Infantry Battalion 1916 silver sweetheart brooch

A scarce original First World War period '8th Infantry Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force sweetheart brooch, depicting the devil within a blue enamel Latin motto scroll 'Hosti Acie Nominati' (Named by the enemy in battle); the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1916 and maker's details 'R.C' (Robert Chandler, Chester). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.
