1918 Royal Air Force good luck horseshoe sweetheart brooch

A rare original Great War late 1918 transitional period 'Royal Air Force gilt and enamel sweetheart brooch'; gilded brass example mounted with RAF crest within a blue enamel 'Good Luck' horseshoe (facing downward as they did at that time), the reverse engraved 'Eric 1918 X' Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, gilt finish remains bright, enamel chip to lower left shoe.
