Royal Navy HMS Garyfort 1915 silver torpedo anchor brooch
A stunning looking original Great War period 'H.M.S. Garyfort sweetheart brooch', in the rare form of a hollow silver anchor, gold plated ribbon scroll surmounted by a torpedo, the reverse impressed with Birrningham silver hallmarks for 1915 and maker's details 'F.H.M' ((Frank H Mannox.). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no dents or distortions, an excellent example.

HMS Garyfort was a light cruiser built in the First World War launched in 1914 and assigned to the Grand Fleet, the Harwich Force and the Dover Patrol, she also served as a flagship. Her only known combat was a short battle against German torpedo boats in the English Channel. She was sold for scrapping in 1931.
