Royal Marine Light Infantry 1899 silver horseshoe sweetheart brooch

A superb example, of a scarce original Boer War period 'Royal Marine Light Infantry sweetheart brooch' in the form of a silver hollow horseshoe, the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1899 and maker's details 'H&T' (Hilliard & Thomason Birmingham). Exceptionally good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no dents or distortions.

The Royal Marine Artillery (RMA) and Royal Marine Light Infantry (RMLI) were amalgamated on 22 June 1923 to become the 'Roya Marines'.
