Canadian CEF 16th Infantry Battalion 1917 silver sweetheart brooch

A scarce original First World War period Canadian Scottish Expeditionary Force CEF sweetheart brooch'; white enamel '16' superimposed on red enamel Crowned saltire, resting on blue enamel motto scroll 'Deas Gu Cath'; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details 'G.A&S'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel minor nick to crown, otherwise perfect.
