South Staffordshire Regiment 1897 silver sweetheart brooch

A rare and unique style Victorian silver regimental sweetheart brooch in the form of a circular design with zigzag border and bauble decorations, the centre with an embossed strap bearing 'South Stafford Regiment' title, raise Forget-me-not flowers and a heart engraved with the number '38' (38th Regiment of Foot); the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1897 and maker's details 'P&Co' (Plante & Co Birmingham). Superb condition.
