WW2 Royal Air Force RAF Per Ardva Ad Astra silver brooch by James Fenton
A scarce original Second World War period fine quality 'Royal Air Force badge'; King George VI enamelled crowned strap bearing the RAF motto 'Per Ardua ad Astra' (Through Adversity to the Stars) with an embossed eagle spread across the centre and mounted to a slender bar; the reverse impressed 'Silver', with maker's details 'J.F' (James Fenton & Co Birmingham). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
