Royal Navy gold and pearl nautical crown brooch retailer Gieves

A fine quality circa 1956 'Royal Navy and Merchant Services nautical crown brooch', this example set with eleven pearls and applied to a slender bar impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1956 and maker's details 'J.W.B' (J W Benson Ltd). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety roller catch device in perfect working order, complete with all pearls and housed in a velvet lined fitted leather case inscribed 'By Royal Appointment' 'Gieves 27, Old Bond Street, London, W.1.'
