WW2 Royal Air Force RAF Per Ardva Ad Astra sweetheart brooch

A scarce and unusual original wartime period 'Royal Air Force sweetheart brooch' in the form of a chromium plated George VI crowned blue enamel circlet, bearing the RAF motto surround 'Per Ardua ad Astra' (Through Adversity to the Stars) with eagle spread across the centre, mounted on a triangular backing and suspended from an ornate blue enamel bar. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
