WW1 Royal Flying Corps silver RFC sweetheart brooch
A rare original First World War period superb 'Royal Flying Corps silver sweetheart brooch' in the form of a representation of the cap badge, Crowned laurel sprays with 'RFC' initials to the centre, set within a decorative engine turned pattern white translucent enamelled ground, the reverse impressed 'Sterling Silver'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, pin possibly a replacement, remarkably without any damage to the enamel.
Diameter 30mm.
The 'Royal Flying Corps' and the 'Royal Naval Air Service' merged on 1 April 1918 to form the 'Royal Air Force'.
