A scarce original First World War period 'H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth sweetheart brooch', in the form of a hollow silver torpedo mounted with a cut out representation of 'Good Queen Bess' with title scroll below, the reverse impressed with Chester silver hallmarks for 1914 and maker's details 'F.H.M' ((Frank H Mannox Birmingham.). Good condition, complete with original pin fitting and old replacement hook, no dents or distortions to front, minor one to reverse.
Length approx 57mm.

HMS Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of her class of dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s, and was often used as a flagship. She served in the First World War as part of the Grand Fleet.
