WW1 Royal Army Medical Corps gold sweetheart brooch

A superb quality jewellers made First World War period 'Royal Army Medical Corps sweetheart brooch'; large Crowned 'Rod of Asclepius' resting within laurel sprays, blue enamel motto scroll below 'In Arduis Fidelis' (Faithful in Adversity), mounted on a slender bar; the reverse impressed '9ct' (9 carat gold). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety catch in good working order, no damage to the enamel.
