Royal Army Pay Corps mother of pearl sweetheart brooch

A scarce original circa 1930's period 'Royal Army Pay Corps badge', a unique example handcrafted from mother of pearl, usually in Jerusalem or Bethlehem. Very good condition and with original pin fitting now corroded, not suitable for wear, collectors item only.
Height 28mm.

Many year ago, two old soldiers who served in the Middle East, saw one of these mother of pearl badges on my stall in London and told me that you would give one of these skilled craftsmen in the market, your cap badge for a short time and they would produce a copy of it in Mother of Pearl, to give to a loved one.
