WW1 Royal Navy HMS Carysfort 1915 silver torpedo pin badge

A very scarce original First World War period 'H.M.S. Carysfort sweetheart brooch', in the form of a hollow silver torpedo mounted with an curved gold plated title scroll, the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1915 and maker's details 'F.H.M' ((Frank H Mannox Birmingham). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, contact fuse pins and fins, with no dents or distortions, an excellent example.
Length approx 57mm.

HMS Carysfort C-class light cruiser built at Pembroke Dockyardfor the Royal Navy in the 1914. She served in the First World War as part of the Grand Fleet. In 1922, she patrolled off the Irish coast during the Irish Civil War.
