British Army Staff College Camberley 1964 gold & enamel regimental brooch by Garrard & Co.
A superb quality Elizabeth II period 'Staff College gold and enamel brooch' bearing the crest of the College in the form of a Crowned 'Wise Owl' perched on crossed Swords resting on blue enamel Latin motto scroll inscribed 'Tan Marte Quam Minerva' (To War with Wisdom); the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1964 and maker's details 'G&Co Ld' (Garrard & Co, London). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, no damage to the enamel, housed in its original velvet lined leather case with details to the lid 'By appointment to H.M The Queen' 'Goldsmiths & the Crown Jewellers Garrard & Co Ltd 112, Regent Street.
