WW1 Royal Flying Corps white faced enamel RFC sweetheart brooch

A very rare original First World War period 'Royal Flying Corps gilt and enamel sweetheart brooch', oval example depicting a pilot's wing in red and blue enamel with motto scroll below 'Per Ardua Ad Astra' (Through Adversity to the Stars). Excellent condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remain bright.
Size approx 30 x 23mm.
