A scarce First World War period poignant 'Royal Army Medical Corps memorial brooch' large silver plated horseshoe mounted with the badge of the regiment, bearing Latin scroll "In Arduis Fidelis" (Faithful In Adversity) entirely inlaid in black enamelling. A good quality marcasite stone set brooch, bearing a Queen Elizabeth crowned laurel wreath in which the "Rod of Asclepius" sits, "In Arduis Fidelis" scroll below, the reverse impressed "Silver". Very good mint condition, original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch, also an accommodation ring to clip on a safety chain, all stones present.
